West Somerset Mineral Line Tours
Title:
West Somerset Mineral Line Tours
When:
16.10.2010
Where:
West Somerset Railway - Minehead
Category:
General Events and Activites

Description

As with many rural railways which closed very early their remoteness and lack of local population has meant that quite a large number of buildings and structures have survived (there being little demand for alternative uses), although many are on private land and those that have not found other uses in private hands have become derelict.

Martin’s vintage bus will meet the West Somerset Railway trains (10.25 from Bishops Lydeard and 10.15 from Minehead) at Williton at 11.00 and will then conduct the party along the former route except on the 22nd March when there are no trains and passengers are asked to make their own way to Williton where the tour will start and finish.

There will be a lunchtime stop at a hostelry, and passengers will be back at Minehead in time to take the 16.05 train homewards.

How to Book

Tel: 01643 704996
The cost of the combined rail and bus trip is £25.00 (no concessions) while the bus only trip on the 22nd of March will be £15.00 per person and there is a maximum of 23 tickets available for each date. Passengers should be able to comfortably board and alight from a vintage bus, sometimes on uneven ground.  The cost includes all travel but does not include the lunch or any other refreshments.
