Warren Bay near Watchet

Warren Bay at Watchet is not your traditional sandy beach but it's perfect for an afternoon away from the madding crowds, mooching around in rock pools or hunting for fossils. Access to this beach is via a footpath along Watchet harbour. Dogs are allowed on the beach all year round.

The beach is a mixture of pebbles and larger stones with plenty of rock pools. The cliffs contain lots of interesting fossils particularly ammonites and fossilised fish.

Watchet itself is a pretty town with an attractive harbour and a good selection of shops and restaurants.
